Why do people forget how to think?

Distractions are a deterrent in the thinking process. The way we think may be affected by these interferences. Sometimes these hindrances can be emotional, physical or mental depending on our surroundings. If we learn to adapt, reduce or eliminate these intrusions that affect us, we can be free from them.

Emotional distractions tend to affect our psyche remotely. The results may be catastrophic and sometimes irreparable. Discomfort, pain and stress are all examples of intuitive distortion and can lead to shyness and intoversion. Our thought process is fueled by a state of wellness, positive affirmations and comfort. People seek professional help for emotional distractions as they cannot readily identify them. One of the things you can do is try to align a negative emotional stimulus to a positive one. For example, when you are feeling sad, try to think of a moment when you were at your happiest. Your mind will then automatically trigger a favorable opposite in times of discomfort. Triggering favourable emotions can help you make new ones as the brain rarely revisits one memorable event except when told to do so.

A physical hindrance may be permanent but that doesn't mean that you are incapable to think. These disabilities may include blindness, being deaf or mute, and immobility. Or maybe your thinking process may be affected by physical triggers like noise or smoke. Physical limitations can sometimes be a burden, but if you choose to work around them, it may be not so bad. There is a world full of endless possibilities just outside your door. If you are brave enough to step out, you may find what you have been dreaming of. Physical disabilities or physical triggers that cause mental obstruction can be combated by adaption exercises and techniques or removing yourself from the stimulus.

When your mind is affected, there may be a need to make specific preparations for your thinking. Maybe you are affected by bouts of memory loss or you just can't focus as others do. One effective method is to write your thoughts down when they actually surface. Once you've written them down then you will have something to work on. Try to organize them to form coherent pieces of information that you can revisit. You may even want to keep a video diary so that you can edit them easily. That way you can have both the original and edited versions stored.

Life may not be hard if you learn to identify your distractions and how to counter them. Just learn to understand people's differences and how to adjust to them. Concentrate on how to incorporate people of different backgrounds into your life, and you will begin to feel grateful for the one you have. Even then don't be complacent because life has surprises both good and bad. So shine bright irrespective of your limitations!
