Italy is the homeland of art. A huge number of great artists, Opera singers, architects, sculptors were born on this land. Since ancient times, Italy has been considered a bastion of civilization. The Roman Empire gave us such a sculptor of antiquity as Lucius Caecilius Iucundus (second half of I century, Naples). The exclusivity of his work was evident in the attention to details. He was able to convey features, body curves, even wrinkles as they are. It seemed as if his sculptures would come alive now. Many people thought it was cruelty, as everyone had the opportunity to see in this sculpture all the disadvantages of his appearance.

With the advent of the Renaissance, Florence becomes the capital of world culture. I think we've all heard of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Donatello. Each of us has heard these names since childhood, and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" have nothing to do with it. You can admire the works of art of the great Renaissance artists even today in the museums of the country and even outside the country.

Giorgio Vazari, an Italian painter, architect and writer of the XVI century was the first one who spoke about "Renaissance". The artist himself defines this era as: "Renaissance is a revival of interest in the heritage of ancient art, in the use of standards and forms that were inherent in it."

Another current of Italian Renaissance art is Opera. This genre appeared at the end of the XVI century, and was formed by the XVII century. Many singers at first lived and worked in Florence, and with time this art form spread to other cities. Opera art flourished and developed rapidly, short chamber concerts turned into real theatrical performances. The greatest achievement of Italian Opera of the XVII century is associated with such composers as Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643) and Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725).

Modern Italy remained loyal to its traditions and managed to preserve the creative spirit that inspired artists of the Middle Ages. This is the most poetic and musical country, because, it is impossible to live a routine life, when you are here. Even just walking through the streets you can boost your energy level for the rest of the day.
