Serginko Perez was born in a medium city in Spain, named Alcoy, near bigger cities like Alicante or Valencia. He is 28 years old. He spent his childhood in Spain, his family gave him a proper education. Serginko lived in several countries and it is already 4 years since he lives in Budapest. He joined Advisors Club about a month ago, and he is a supervisor of Hungary as well.
In what area did You study and why did You choose this profession?
I finished my studies some years ago. Although I am not dedicated to this sector anymore, since I moved in Hungary 4 years ago. I decided to choose tourism in a period of my life when I was confused and didn’t know what to do with my future and career. So I thought about tourism as it was easy and enjoyable.
What is Your profession now?
My official profession at the moment is IT service engineer. I already work in this field one year. Thought it sounds as a technical job, it is more focused on customer care skills. I just need to have technical base in order to understand customer needs better.
I wouldn’t say this is the job of my life, that’s why I try to find other ways and chances every day. But it is quite comfortable place, very flexible and full of young people.
How did You end up in Hungary? Why not Spain?
I love traveling and having new experiences in my life. I already lived in several countries. When I came to Budapest for holidays, I fell in love with this city and I thought it would be a perfect place to find myself and my happiness. Spain is always there, I have my family and my old friends there. But at the moment I feel very good in Hungary.
Can You tell us where did You travel?
Besides Spain I have been living in Andorra, UK, Czech Republic, Hungary and South Africa. I have visited a half of the countries in Europe, and I am planning to start visiting other continents soon.
My experience in Budapest, definitely, is the most important, as I am here already about 4 years. South Africa was also an interesting experience. It’s a place with more different culture than in Europe, with other possibilities and way of life.
Interesting choice of countries. How long did You live in South Africa?
I lived there for half a year. Though my first idea was to stay there at least one year. I started to miss Budapest and decided to come back.
How do You spend your free time?
Besides travelling I love playing sports, especially tennis or other racket sports. I also love listening music and dancing, watching films, hanging out with friends, spending time with animals, gain new experiences, activities or events, watching sports or playing poker. I like modeling and photography, but I didn’t work professionally on it, just as hobby.
Can You tell the difference between a good person and not-so-good one?
A good person is someone who is able to give the priority to the others instead of himself trying to improve his happiness. Someone who is very emphatic and understands others very well. Someone who would do the best to try to not to hurt feelings and always thinks in the benefit of the society. Not so good people have tendency to be selfish and careless about feelings of others.
How do You accept criticism? Do You criticize others?
I am a person who cares too much what other people think, and I think it is actually a bad point. We can’t be perfect and can’t be like everyone. We need to have always our own personality and be ourselves, just keeping the respect to the others in any way.
I accept and listen the critics, while they are with proper arguments and for my benefit.
I do criticize others, but in the same way, with respect and trying firstly to make sure this will not hurt their feelings, and secondly, that this is a constructive critic.
The best and valuable advice that You were given.
If there is a dream or something you really want to do, don’t let anybody and anything prevent you from reaching your goals.
Do You motivate yourself?
I think it is important to keep yourself motivated to follow your goals. Otherwise, you feel that your life doesn’t make sense without the proper motivation.
Sometimes I listen motivational speech, or people with great experiences in life.
I also like to have small short-term goals and try to achieve them. If you don’t have small and big goals, your life will be simple and you can basically fall in depression.
What about your ideal, the person who You learned a lot?
I really like Will Smith, his mentality, the way he sees life. He is always positive, a big fighter, a person with principles, very charismatic, a person, who had to fight to reach his dreams.
How do You see your life in the future?
Basically I would like to be happy whatever my situation is and what I am doing. I don't know where I will be and what I will do, but I hope I will be where I am happy and doing what I want in each moment. My general goal for future is my own house and a family.
How do You cope with the difficulties in life?
I try to keep calm and take it easy. Also it is very important to get around with people with experience and good advice, who help to make the best decision.
What would You propose everyone to do?
To fill their lives with experiences. Life is too short and beautiful to not to enjoy it and live it in a simple way, creating a boring routine. It doesn't matter what you like, just do whatever it takes to make you feel alive.
Your slogan for a life.
Carpe diem! (Seize the day!)
