The great advice of the Greek philosopher Socrates: “Know yourself, to know others better"

In most cases the main cause of breaking our relationships with others is the lack of empathy. Empathy is our ability to recognize and understand the emotions and feelings of others. It is a form of self-awareness; the better we know our emotions, the easier we will understand the feelings of others.

The inability to recognize other emotions is a sign of low emotional intelligence. People rarely express their emotions verbally, as it is easier to express them in a nonverbal way, through gestures, mimics, actions, and so on. The ability to read the unspoken things exactly is the key to understanding the emotions of others and as a result, the key to successful relationships.

Empathy is an existent feeling in the individual, just try to give it a chance to act. From an early childhood when a baby is listening to another baby crying he immediately begins to react with crying. This can be called an early indication of empathy even though unconscious.

Developing man grows as well as grows his ego, influenced by factors such as environment, education, family, culture. People have become more selfish. The world is okay for them as long as they are good. But in reality the world does not work that way. All we have to do to keep our egoism from us is to count the other as part of our worries and happiness, because tomorrow we can be in his position.

The opposite of this, the lack of empathy, unwittingly leads to improper actions, crime, violence and other antisocial actions. A man commits a crime to someone else because he is unable to feel the pain and injury. A criminal has low emotional intelligence. He does not fulfill any of the above mentioned components of emotional intelligence. He is not capable of knowing and understanding his or her feelings, nor he is able to control emotions, to manage relationships with others. And because of his infamous actions he rather harms his family, the circle and the society where lives and operates.
